Foran is a step closer to achieving her
dream of becoming a lawyer after she
received a prestigious scholarship to
study at Bond University on the Gold
The 17-year-old was awarded a full-fee
Indigenous Scholarship in November and
told The Bunyip she was just one of 14
indigenous students across Australia to
Krystal, who is studying a Diploma of
Legal Studies, made the big move from
her home town of Nuriootpa to the Gold
Coast two weeks ago, and began classes
For her, it has been a dream come true.
"I felt so privileged, it feels surreal
almost," she said.
"It's been so good and I'm meeting so
many new people as well."

In securing the scholarship, Krystal
applied online and then went through a
lengthy interview process.
She is scheduled to finish her diploma
in August, but will return to South
Australia to complete further study next
year, after learning last week she had been
offered a place at Adelaide
Krystal said the diploma would give her
an idea of how the legal industry oper-
ates before settling on law as a definitive
"I got offered from the University of
Adelaide for my first preference of a
Bachelor of Law," she said.
"I was thinking of having a gap year,
but if I've got from August to March,
that's pretty much a year off
"I'm definitely looking forward to what

THE progress of the footpath works between
Murray Street, High Street and Lyndoch Road is
proceeding to date, on time and within budget.
The project is ready for the concrete kerb and
gutter installation this week, with the new footpath
