are not responsible for recurring errors.The publisher will not be
held accountable for any loss of income, be it business, personal
or otherwise as a result of any error or omission relating to an

Council Development Assessment Panel
Expressions of Interest
The District Council of Mallala is seeking to appoint an Independent
Presiding Member and three (3) Independent Members to its
Development Assessment Panel, commencing in December 2014 for a
term of two years.
In additon to the Independent Presiding Member and Independent
Members, the seven (7) member Panel will also include three (3)
members selected from the Elected Members of the District Council of
The Panel holds meetngs as and when required, but normally on
the frst Tuesday of each month. Meetngs may vary from 1-2 hours
and Panel members will be expected to undertake site visits where
necessary, and read all relevant background material prior to the
meetngs. Independent Panel members are paid a sitng fee for each
meetng atended and all members will be expected to comply with a
Minister's Code of Conduct.
The Independent Presiding Member and three (3) Independent
Members are required to have a reasonable knowledge of the operaton
and requirements of the Development Act 1993 and associated
Regulatons. They are also required to have appropriate qualifcatons
or experience in a feld relevant to the actvites of the Panel. These may
include planning law, heritage, architecture, urban design, planning,
arboriculture, trafc management, or other related felds. The Presiding
Member should have experience in chairing formal meetngs.
Applicants should also be familiar with the District Council of Mallala
Development Plan and have an understanding of the process by which
development applicatons are assessed against the Plan.
Candidates should include the following informaton with their

knowledge and experience;
• a summary of the benefts the candidate would bring to the Panel
and the development assessment process;
• an indicaton of whether they are seeking the positon of
Independent Presiding Member or one of the three (3) Independent

The Awards reward and recognise individuals and organisatons that have
made a noteworthy contributon during the current year, and/or give an
